Fiat Doblo Van Leasing Review

One of the small vans that most van leasing companies offer is the Fiat Doblo Van. It is one of the better small vans on the market. Although it is of a similar size to alternative vans in this price range; such as Citroen Berlingo or the Ford Transit Connect,which are also commonly use for van leasing as well,the standard model Fiat Doblo Van provides much more room when it comes to load carrying. There are several different body types on the market including long and short wheel base, there's even a Combi version for carrying a few passengers and load carrying as well. On the go it's both very comfortable and a joy to drive too while the interior is both well designed and tough enough to withstand any punishment you may mete out to it over the course of a working day.

When you sit in the drivers seat the first thing you will notice is how well made the interior is. It  has a high driving position for such a small van which means that visibility is very good.

The seats are comfortable enough to prevent long journeys from feeling like a chore. There is a considerable amount of overhead storage which is useful and quite large, although it can be a little difficult to access. There is plenty of other storage areas throughout the cabin and the glove box is spacious enough to fit a small laptop computer.

There's a choice of engines available in the range, one petrol and three MultiJet diesel engines.

The entry level is a 1.4 litre petrol engine with 95BHP, this is adequate but can feel a little underpowered, though it's powerful enough for the loads the van is designed for. The diesel engines are much better however and provide more torque. The miles per gallon ratio of the diesel engines is very impressive, the 1.3 will do around 59 miles per gallon. The 2.0 litre diesel engine can manage around 50 miles per gallon, which is still very impressive and obviously you get more torque as well. The 2.0 engine kicks out 135BHP.

The cabin is well insulated which helps cut down a lot on engine and wind noise, it's also quick to get warm in the winter months.  Because of the high ride height there's a little body roll as you would expect but the van still handles surprisingly well. It's more than worth the trade-off as the high ride height adds a lot of comfort and visibility.

As well as a choice of short and long wheel base, there's also a choice of roof heights. The standard model offers 3.4 cubic metres of load carrying capacity and can carry up to 1,000 kg or 750 kg depending on if you have the long or short wheel base. The high roof version adds 0.6 cubic metres of volume but the weight it can carry remains the same. Twin rear doors are as standard, there is also the possibility of a tailgate as an optional extra.

With a drivers side airbag as standard and a passenger side airbag as an optional extra, Fiat Doblo Van is quite safe. ABS also comes as standard.

To sum it up the Fiat Doblo van is an exceptional little vehicle, both practical and comfortable on long journeys and a good choice for van leasing. It's also hard wearing.
